Travellers set up near Rochdale primary schools
Date published: 28 June 2010
A group of travellers have moved onto a stretch of land between Greenbank Road and Taylor Street in Rochdale.
The common just off Whitworth Road is close to All Saints Primary School and St Patricks RC Primary School.
A spokesperson for St Patricks Primary said: “They arrived on Wednesday night. But at the moment they aren’t causing a nuisance. The matter has been passed onto the council for them to deal with.”
The travellers’ arrival on the site comes in the same week travellers set up on land next to Bamford Field House Cricket Club, on Hollin Lane, Bamford.
Rochdale Borough Council was unavailable for comment at the time of publication.
