World Cup fever in Littleborough
Date published: 26 June 2010
Families got in the World Cup spirit today (Saturday 26 June 2010) as football fever took hold of Littleborough.
Children and their parents took part in the football fun which included a penalty shootout and face painting at Hare Hill Park.
The football fun gave locals chance to show off their football skills and get ready for England’s World Cup clash with Germany tomorrow.
Today was the last of a month long series ran by Link4Life, the Rochdale Boroughwide Cultural Trust.
Sharon Crouch from Link4Life said: “We have had great fun today, the weather has been great which has really helped and we have been busy as the day has gone on.”
Denise Greenwood was at the park with her neighbours children, she said: “We have been here for a couple of hours and have had a really good time and we are making the most of the sunshine.”
