Date published: 25 June 2010

With exams over and the sun shining pupils from Cardinal Langley RC High School were all smiles this evening (Friday 25 June 2010) as they arrived at the school for their prom.

The teenagers were dressed to kill. The girls wore dresses of every colour imaginable whilst the boys were suited and booted ready for an evening of laughter and goodbyes.

The venue of the prom was a surprise for the year 11 students who arrived in style, some in limousines, others in convertibles and some on a double decker ‘fun bus.’

Head of year 11, Mr Durcan, said: “This is a fantastic year group. They have great ability levels and they have achieved so much this year.

“We are expecting them to get the best set of results we’ve ever had.”

Mathew Kelly, is leaving Cardinal Langley to pursue a career in mechanics, he has almost organised an apprenticeship. “I will miss school,” he said, “I have enjoyed it and made some great friends.”

Bianca Jones is heading to the new Rochdale Sixth Form College after the summer holidays to study dance, sociology and health and social. “I will really miss school and my friends,” she said.

Lewis Nicholson will start at Bury College in September: “I want to study media and then go into photography or directing. I have really enjoyed Cardinal Langley.”
