World Cup Sunday
Sunday 11 July will be a special day for the members of The Salvation Army Citadel, Newgate, Rochdale. The whole day will be given to celebrating football and God’s part in the sport, the theme for the day will be ‘They Think It’s All Over’ the day will take the following format:
11.30am celebration meeting – our weekly service with a football theme.
Pay £1 to wear a football shirt or scarf. The money will be donated to the Bobby Robson Cancer Charity. Our football team awards will be presented during this service.
2.00pm Following a picnic lunch (Bring your own) members of the congregation will meet in Failinge Park for an over 30 verses under 30 football match. Teams to be decided.
Then all back to the Citadel, Newgate to watch the world cup final on a big screen. This will be a family safe environment and so if you want to join in and watch in a safe, alcohol free place then join us at 7.00pm for the match.
