Father’s Day, that one special day to let your dad know how much you love him.

With the sun shining and the birds singing Rochdale Online reporter Laura Wild headed to Milnrow today to find out about all the special dads out there.

The message from the little boys and girls playing in the sunshine was very clear; they all have the ‘best dad in the world!’

Graham Whiteside was sat in the sun with his son Ky. “It is a really nice day and a chance to relax with the family,” said Mr Whiteside.

Across the road at Milnrow Memorial Park many families were enjoying the chance to spend some time together, some had picnics, some had ice creams and all of them had some fun!

Paul Kitchen celebrated Father’s Day with his three-year-old son Jack, 10-month-old daughter Grace and partner Michaela Mansfield.

Paul hasn’t got his Father’s Day gift yet but was looking forward to some new slippers.

Ms Mansfield said: “We have had a really nice day; Sunday is always family day for us.”

Matthew Nutter from Milnrow enjoyed the day with his five-year-old daughter, Frankie and his partner Keely Smithies.

When asked what she thought of her daddy, Frankie announced: ‘he is the best.’

Brothers Anthony and Steven Brown met up to play in the park with their children.

Anthony from Shaw spent the afternoon with his three-year-old daughter, Neve, who treated her daddy to a t-shirt.

Steven from Middleton spent some quality time with his two-year-old daughter, Grace.

The Crowther family from Oldham enjoyed a special lunch at the John Milne before heading to Hollingworth Lake. Harvey of 21 months treated his dad, Andy, to some DVDs – with a little help from mum, Sue.
