A child playing at the beach party
On Friday 11 June Kirkway Sure Start Children’s Centre celebrated National Bookstart Week with a fun beach party event.
Fifty-three parents, carers and children attended this hugely successful event.
Sunshine and sand activities were the order of the day including our home made sandy beach and lots of water play.
The children had fruity ice lollies and healthy snacks.
There was lots of seaside-themed storytelling and songs including ‘A Sailor Went to Sea’ and ‘I Do Like To Be Beside The Seaside’
Each child went home with a Bookstart Activity pack which included an ‘At the Seaside’ book, song sheet and sticker.
Kirkway Sure Start Children’s Centre offer a full timetable of events for families with children aged 0 – 5 throughout the week.
