The North Manchester and Bury Myeloma Support Group, established in February 2007, will be ‘Walking a Mile for Myeloma’ in Heaton Park on Sunday 27 June 2010 during Myeloma Awareness week.
The walk will commence at Heaton Hall at 3.00 p.m.
The aim of the walk is to raise awareness and raise funds for Myeloma UK, the only national charity specifically for patients with myeloma.
At the end stages of the walk, participants will be greeted by the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Mark Hackett along with the Lady Mayoress, Sheila Saunders.
The Fire Service from Blackley will also be in attendance as one of their colleagues sadly died from the illness.
His colleagues raised funds in his memory and are keen to support the group in the bid to raise awareness of the illness.
