Falinge Park High School
We welcome Robin Graham in to school this week as he leads a Laughter Therapy
Session for staff to use with pupils. Robin is a Laughter Therapty Facilitator and has
worked with our pupils before. We hope the staff leave the session suitably amused.
We are delighted that several of our Year 9 pupils have applied for places for the Channel 4’s Talent Inspiration Day to be held in Manchester this summer. We wish them the best of luck in their applications.
Many of our pupils have applied to be extras in the television series ‘Waterloo Road’. It
would much appreciated if pupils who are applying for the opportunity come to see Mr.
De.Courcey in the CEPA office at breaktime or lunchtime to register their intention to apply.
Letters for several theatre visits have been issued to pupils across the years this week. There are still places available to attend the ‘Horrible Science’ theatre visit in October. Letters have recently been issued to see ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ in December and we are delighted to offer a chance to see ‘Our Day Out’ at the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool in September. If you would like to come along on one of these visits then please come and see Mr. DeCourcey, or Ms. Gott as soon as possible.
Tickets are available for our Summer Music Showcase on Monday 28 June from 7.00pm until 9.00pm. Adult tickets are priced at £3.00 and childrens tickets are £1.50. Refreshments are served at the event, and there is a great raffle. We look forward to welcoming families and friends of the school. Tickets are available in advance from the CEPA Office at breaktimes, lunchtimes or after school.
We would also like to congratulate the Year 9 and Year 10 pupils who performed at the Jabez Clegg in Manchester this week as part of the ‘Battle of the Bands’ event led by the Royal College of Music. Our pupils gave impressive performances to a very large audience and were very well received. The group received a series of workshops led by a pop specialist from the Royal Northern, and clearly benefited from the experience. Well done to all involved and thanks to all the staff who supported the event.
Our annual Sponsored Walk takes place this week. We ask that all pupils dress suitably and bring a packed lunch with them. Pupils should be prepared for all weathers and ensure that they consider Road Safety at all times throughout the walk. We hope for a pleasant and successful day.
