Community fire safety officers from Rochdale visited Roch Vale Caravan Park on Pringle Street today (Wednesday 16 June 2010) to offer fire safety advice to the travelling community.
The fire officers also provided and fitted smoke alarms in caravans and trailers.
Crew Manager and Community Fire Safety Officer, Mick Cryer said: “It is really important that all members of our community have access to fire safety advice, and smoke alarms, so we have provided the residents on the park with a DVD which covers escape plans from caravans and similar dwellings, as well as fitting our 10 year lasting smoke alarms”
Most of the people visited were adequately covered; however 11 people had fire alarms fitted.
