Latest school plans passed
Date published: 14 June 2010
The latest phase of the Building Schools for the Future plans were approved at this evening’s (Monday 14 June 2010) cabinet meeting.
'Phase 1b' schemes are the construction work to be carried out at Matthew Moss High School and Cardinal Langley High School.
Each of the sites compromise of approximately 10% new build and 90% refurbishment works.
All construction work has been scheduled. Completion of the Mathew Moss site is expected by April 2012 and Cardinal Langley by July 2012.
In the meantime temporary accommodation will be provided for teaching.
Partnerships for schools are fully funding this phase of the Building Schools for the Future and therefore there are no additional financial implications for the Council. The governing body of Mathew Moss is providing an additional £500,000 to allow a greater amount of new building to take place.
The work will be completed by Carillion Construction Ltd.
