Child Safety Week
Sure Start Children’s Centres across Rochdale will acknowledge Child Safety Week next week with a host of activities going on at centres across the borough to highlight safety and prevent accidents.
From Monday 21 June – Saturday 26 June, events include visits from the fire brigade, police cars, fun in the sun advice, seat belt and car seat checks, road safety sessions and lots more for families with children aged 0 – 5 years.
The theme for the campaign which is running across the country is ‘making time for safety’. Parents are being asked to pledge just a few minutes to consider safety which may prevent a serious accident.
Ruth Taylor, Children’s Centre Communications Officer, said: “In past years it has been successful. Lots of parents asks questions and children have fun.”
Child Safety Week is a national campaign by the Child Accident Prevention Trust. It aims to raise awareness of the number of accidents that seriously injure or kill children and how to prevent them.
