New Chief Inspectors for Rochdale
Date published: 10 June 2010
Greater Manchester Police’s Rochdale Division has appointed two new Chief Inspectors.
Nadeem Mir, formerly Operational Policing Unit Inspector for Salford Division, returns to Rochdale after two years. He takes over the post of Criminal Justice and Partnerships.
Alec McMurchy has previously worked in a number of roles across Greater Manchester including response, volume crime, neighbourhood policing, criminal justice and specialist operations. He will be in charge of response policing and intelligence management.
Mr Mir said: “Returning to Rochdale is an excellent opportunity for me to build on my previous work in the community.
“I am committed to neighbourhood policing and want to see it continue to strengthen our links in the community.”
Mr McMurchy said: “Rochdale is a fantastic new challenge for me. I want to build on the success of DCI Fawcett who was previously responsible for this role and make Rochdale a safer place for everyone.
“These are exciting times for Rochdale as we look to implement new working practice to improve our efficiency and service to the public where and when we are most needed.”
Between them the pair bring 52 years of experience to the Division. They join Chief Superintendent John O’Hare, Superintendents Martin Greenhalgh and Chris Hankinson and Detective Chief Inspector George Fawcett to lead the Rochdale Division.
