Castleton Sure Start picnic in the park
Date published: 09 June 2010
Children, parents and teddies from Castleton Sure Start Children’s Centre enjoyed a morning of fun in the sunshine last week at a picnic in Chesham Park, Castleton.
Mums, dads, grandmas and grandads all enjoyed a healthy walk in the fresh air and took part in fun games and activities together.
Later in the week parents and children enjoyed a den building session together at Castleton Sure Start Children’s Centre.
The children used their creative talents to make tents, tunnels, dens and cozy caves with sheets, cushions and anything else they could find. Mums and dads were there to do all the important bits like pegging the sheets on and guarding the entrance against scary monsters.
The events were to mark National Family Week. National Family Week encourages families to participate in activities together. Children’s Centres offer a range of fun activities for families with children aged 0 – 5 years.
Castleton Sure Start Children’s Centre offer a full timetable of events for families with children aged 0 – 5 throughout the week. This is now online at www.rochdale.gov.uk/childrenscentres or call 01706 516310.
