Rochdale health worker awards
Date published: 09 June 2010
Nominations are open for health workers in Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood in the ‘Going for Gold’ awards.
The first award, ‘The Heart of Local Health’ is for NHS workers, and was won last year by Trinity Medical Centre in Littleborough.
The other is for ‘Volunteer of the Year’, picked up in 2009 by Expert Patient Volunteers, awarded for the dedication and care they give to help people manage their long-term conditions.
John Pierce, chair at NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale, said: “We receive a number of letters and emails from patients who have been delighted with the care they have received and these awards are a way they can really show their gratitude.
“The quality of entries was astounding last year and I greatly urge patients to take part and reward our most deserving staff.”
Winners will be selected by a panel of judges from the local Patients Council and NHS HMR and receive the awards in September.
