Break for carers
Date published: 08 June 2010
Rochdale Carers will get a break next week as a series of events is aimed at showing them how to enjoy their lives away from their work responsibilities.
Activities run throughout the week beginning Monday 14 June and include ten-pin bowling, health treatments and a special ‘men only’ event.
Colin Beech, Interim Service Director of Adult Care Operations at Rochdale Borough Council, said: “We recognise the vital part carers play in looking after the most vulnerable people in the borough. They are unsung heroes, often neglecting their own health, finances, working and social life and general well-being to care for friends and relatives. Some don’t even recognise themselves as carers and miss out on services and benefits they are entitled to.”
“We are proud to support Carers Week by giving carers the recognition they deserve and encouraging carers to find out about the wide range of carers services available throughout the borough.”
