Residents urged to decide on Heywood Community School site

Plans for redevelopment of Heywood Community School site
Heywood Community School is due to close in August 2010 but Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council is asking members of the community to decide what to do with the obsolete site.
Buildings and hard play areas will be demolished, but playing field and the car park retained.
Keith Hill, Lead Officer for Building Schools for the Future said: “It’s really important that the local community get involved in this consultation process so that everyone has their say about the surplus land.
“I hope local residents will find lots of uses for the playing fields which are to be retained to provide much needed green space in the area.”
The consultation process closes on Friday 6 August. Local residents can visit the RMBC website to air their views.
