Three-year-old boy in critical condition following collision

A three-year-old boy is in a critical condition following a collision in Rochdale.
At about 12.40pm today, (Monday 7 June 2010) a blue Audi A3 travelling down College Road collided with the child.
The boy suffered a fractured skull and a broken arm in the collision and was taken to Rochdale Infirmary for treatment. He remains in a critical condition.
No-one else was hurt in the collision although the driver, a 64 year-old woman was left extremely shaken.
Officers now want to hear from any witnesses.
College Road between the junctions with St Mary's Gate and Holland Road, were closed while the emergency service dealt with the scene, but has now been re-opened.
