Children at Wardleworth Community Centre enjoyed the Activity Blast
The Activity Blast at Wardleworth Community Centre was a hit with over 100 youngsters in the community and was enjoyed by all.
Youths complained of being bored during the school half-term holidays, so on their request the centre opened up for longer hours.
There was a variety of free indoor and outdoor activities between Tuesday 1 June and Friday 4 June which were received well by all present.
Mustaqeem Bakth, 13, said: “The Activity Blast was excellent! Everything was free and we could play lots of games and do different activities. I already attend the Chill Out Zone every Friday, but this was much better because there were more activities and more time too.”
The participants were not the only ones who benefited from the initiative. Nasreen Sultana, 15, who volunteered, said: “I am extremely pleased that I could help organise be part of a successful event which benefited lots of young people.
“I was pleased that a range of young people participated and were very keen about the activities. This event has helped my confidence to grow, as I have learnt how to deal with different situations and work with different people.”
