These fire-fighters cycled 166 miles and raised £400 for Springhill Hospice
A group of nine fire-fighters from Rochdale have taken part in a coast to coast cycle trip to raise money for Springhill Hospice.
The ride took place over the May Bank Holiday weekend and the journey started at Walney Island, and finished three days later in Sunderland.
The following fire-fighters cycled the 166 mile trip: Angus Robinson, Nick Griffin, James Fernhead, Chris Robinson, Jon Clark, Paul Holloway, Daniel Maurice- Scott, Neil Murry and Kris Ahmed.
Fire-fighter, Jon Clark, said: “Completing this cycle ride was incredibly difficult and was far more arduous than I could have first imagined, but now having completed the ride of 170 miles from coast to coast I feel a great sense of achievement and I am extremely proud that I managed to somehow get from Wallney Island to Roker Pier in just about once piece and by doing so we managed to raise £400.00 for Springhill Hospice.
“Bring on Lands end to John O’Groats!”
The fire-fighters decided to raise money for the Springhill Hospice because they feel it does an incredible job and is a worthy cause.
