Mike Goldrick Blinds Company showrooms, Heywood, were transformed this evening (Saturday 5 June 2010) for a casino fun night to raise funds for Heywood Rotary Club.

Almost 100 guests dressed to impress for a night full of glitz and glam where they enjoyed playing Poker, Roulette and Blackjack.

Mike Goldrick, owner of the showrooms and a Heywood Rotarian organised the event, he said: “It has been a sell out, it has taken a mega amount of effort to organise but it is certainly worthwhile.”

Mr Goldrick became a Rotarian last year and it was his idea to hold the event to raise money on behalf of the Heywood Rotary Club, he added: “Everyone seems to be having a great night, we have had a homemade buffet from Tilly’s Tea Rooms and this is just a different and fun way to raise funds.”

George Kinder, President of Heywood Rotary Club is delighted with the fundraising work Mr Goldrick has done since joining Heywood Rotary, he said: “Mike is doing a tremendous job and this is a fabulous fundraising event.

“Although it isn’t real gambling that is going on everybody is having fun and we have had a really good turnout.”

Guests at the event received £30.00 worth of chips with their ticket and those with the most chips at the end of the night were entered into a prize draw with 20 prizes on offer.

The casino fun night is expected to raise in the region of £1,600 which will go into the rotary club’s ‘general fund.’
