Saint Cuthbert High School
This week’s theme was The Sacred Heart. Our Enterprise capability was Self Belief.
Year 7 Attendance Challenge – Congratulations to Form 7.8 who are this week’s winners with an attendance figure of 99.1%. "You have to be in to win" - Congratulations Matthew Chrimes, Form 7.8. Year 7 Homework club is open at 1.30 each lunch time in L3 with Mrs Whitmore and Mrs Rushton and Year 7 learners can now enjoy St Cuthbert's daily radio broadcast each lunch time in the year 7 area. A reminder that late detentions and smart card detentions are now served after school, this is in line with whole school procedures.
GCSE and A Level exams are now well under way. Study rooms are available for all students who are not in a timetabled exam. Please note the paved area around the back of the sports hall is not available at breaks and lunch times during the exam period – please use the senior yard, all weather pitch and fields for playing ball games.
The Library is running a new competition “Can You Tell a Book By Its Cover”. All you have to do is identify the title and author from 20 book covers – it’s that easy! Entry forms are available from Mrs Russell in the LRC - closing date Friday 11th June.
Whole School Homework Club takes place after school in the PLC – please take this opportunity to use the school facilities for research and homework activities.
Our Adult Learning Group is proving to be extremely popular – a group of parents and friends of the school come together each Monday morning to improve their computing skills. The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for all parents and local businesses who wish to produce resources or develop their own learning. Please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
