Neighbourhood surgeries go on the road
Date published: 24 May 2010
Residents in south Rochdale are being urged to attend a series of supermarket surgeries to get to know their local police officers.
Officers from Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team will be visiting supermarkets across the community to introduce themselves, offer crime prevention advice and find out what concerns resident may have about the community they are living in.
The next surgery will be held on Friday 28 May from 11 am to 3pm, at Tesco, Silk Street in Rochdale.
Inspector Dave Lees, for the Rochdale South Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “As part of the Policing Pledge the Neighbourhood Policing Teams are working hard to find out the concerns of the community and find solutions to the problems. By speaking to residents at the heart of the community, in locations easily accessible to all we can really help make a difference to the area you are living and working in.
“During the surgeries we will also provide residents with crime prevention advice and information about bogus callers and home security.”
