New Superintendent joins Rochdale Division
Date published: 24 May 2010
Superintendent Chris Hankinson has joined Greater Manchester Police’s Rochdale Division.
He has been a police officer for 22 years and has previously worked in a number of roles including firearms, tactical aid unit and liasing Inspector at the airport. His most recent roles have been in Neighbourhood Policing at Tameside and Bolton.
He said: “Coming to Rochdale is a fresh challenge for me and I am looking forward to build on the reductions of crime and to increase public confidence in policing in the town from last year.
“Neighbourhood Policing and partnership working with groups such as the council, housing associations and community leaders and associations in the area is essential to policing and it’s a skill that I will be bringing from my experience at Tameside and Bolton. It’s a way of showing the community that we are all working together and listening to their concerns. As part of our commitment to the Policing Pledge I will be listening to the concerns of the community and work to resolve the problems in the area and it make a safer for everyone.”
Off duty Superintendent Hankinson enjoys spending time with his family, walking his two dogs and bird watching.
