Co-operative Milnrow Band

The Co-operative Milnrow Band held its AGM in the band room on Monday 17 May 2010. Jim Fitton in the Chair.

Along with officials, many playing members of the band were in attendance.

Ken Watts was re-appointed as President & PR and long standing Chairman Jim Fitton was also re elected. Vice Chairman re appointed was SJS (John) Smith.

Changes to the committee were seen by the appointment of several of the band personnel to positions.

Valerie Fitton (secretary for 17 years) retired and the post was taken up by Adrienne Connell (Horn section).

SJS (John) Smith (Engagement Secretary) relinquished the position in favour of playing member John Shaw, and a new Treasurer, Dave Fitton (ex player ex band manager) was elected.

The General Committee mainly remains the same and the Management Group consists of Dave Fitton, Mike Thewlis, Frances Thewlis, Helen Clegg and Penny Hilton.

Donna Towse was re affirmed as Principal Cornet with Frances Thewlis (Solo Horn) being re appointed as Band Manager.

Chris Binns remains Principal Trombone and Adam Snape is Principal Euphonium. Most other playing positions also remain unchanged.

The first meeting of the new committee will be on Tuesday 1 June 2010 in the band room.
