Visit to Stamford Bridge – Monday 17th May
Twenty children and two staff are travelling to the home of Chelsea football club on Monday to cheer on the St Cuthbert’s footballers who have reached the schools national final. We are sharing a coach with St Gabriel’s who are also going to cheer them on. Some of the players attended St John’s and it is superb to see how well they are now doing by reaching this prestigious final. The children who are going need to be here at school for 6.15am! The coach departs St Johns at 6.30am. They should be back around 9pm. A school text will be sent half an hour before arrival back to all parents of those on the coach with a more accurate pick-up time.

Still to come ?
The children in KS2 classes 3 to 6 will be learning about First Aid skills from Red Cross personnel on Monday 17th May.

The ‘co-co’ club continues to go from strength to strength. Children from Broadfield CP school are currently joining us on Tuesday afternoon for a combined after school club of fun and games. The joint celebration festival will now be held on the afternoon of Tuesday 8th June with Deeplish School, Ashfield Valley School and Broadfield school all taking part in our first joint celebration event.

Family Holidays
Thank you for only taking family holidays during school holiday time. No family holidays will be authorised during term time. If your child is off school at any time due to illness then please contact the school office first thing to let us know. Many thanks again.

Expochef
Last Friday the children in Years 1 to 6 were treated to a healthy tasty cooking spectacular. It was provided by Expochef ‘Pete’. The chef explained and demonstrated healthy yet tasty ways of cooking such as use of spices instead of salt and fruits instead of sugar. It was an inspirational day and the whole school learned a lot in an essential life skill. We will be arranging another visit for next term.
