Many thanks to all the pupils who were involved in English and Arts week last week, and made it all a great and exciting week. There were over 15 activities, clubs or work shops held throughout the week and a large number of students were involved. Congratulations to all pupils who successfully won a book as a result of excellent work created in the workshops.

Well done to Sana Ayub 7H who was the winner of our ‘Vote For Your Personal Hero’ Competition. Sana selected an elderly neighbour and won herself a gift voucher to issue to her ‘personal hero’. We look forward to hearing about how she surprises her neighbour with such a present in the near future. Congratulations also go to Mehwish Gujjar 8F, Lahreb Shafique 8R and Sanuel Rao 9R who were the three winners of the ‘Test Your Knowledge’ English and Arts Week competition. There were some really difficult questions, so the three winners deserve praise for their insight.

If you are in Year 8 and you recently received a letter about Drama Summer School, then we would appreciate a reply as soon as possible. If you are unable to make the dates due to family holidays, please can you let us know so that we can reallocate places to other students.

Mr DeCourcey and Ms Gott recently visited the Liverpool Playhouse Theatre to discuss an exciting new project for the near future. They look forward to letting you know about how this may impact on our school in the next few months.

Many thanks to all the families and friends of school who attended and participated in our Family Quiz Night this week. Mr Smith set some particularly tough questions this year, but scores were high. Congratulations to the three winning teams! Each winning team received a ‘goody bag’ of DVD’s, books, toys and chocolates. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

As a result of a clash with another Music project, it has been decided to postpone the ‘Back To School’ Music event until next year. Many thanks to the families who submitted the form to be involved and we will contact you in the near future to let you know when this will take place.

We look forward to welcoming primary staff from across the borough to our Geography, Religious Education and Drama Inset that is to take place on Monday 24th May. There are one or two places left although it is filling fast. Please contact Mr DeCourcey at school if you would like to sign up and get involved.
