Yellow peril strikes at pot holes!

Yellow lines painted over a pothole on Chadwick Hall Road
The number of potholes on roads in the borough is at epidemic level, and some are a very serious danger to road users, particularly those on two wheels. Rochdale Borough Council has been accused of being too slow to react and sort the problem and now stands accused of a lack of communication and completely ignoring the problem by painting double yellow lines over potholes!
A Bamford resident, who prefers not to be named, photographed newly painted yellow lines over potholes in Chadwick Hall Road, she said: "Perhaps the Highways Department could be persuaded to use 'joined-up' thinking when it comes to road repairs. It would be amusing if I didn't think that this is going to cost Council Tax payers, like myself, further expense in line painting when the potholes are repaired (if ever!).
Conservative candidate in the local elections, Ian Duckworth commented: "This just sums up the Council's lack of joined up thinking.
"The pot holes, which are deep and extensive, should have been filled before the roads were marked.
"It seems we need more communication between managers and departments. This also applies to planning and licensing, which often don't communicate with each other, and have contradictory policies."
