This week’s theme was Christian Aid Week and our Enterprise capability was Decision Making. We enjoyed the return of the Christian rock band, Blush, as they fitted us in for a day’s performance during their busy tour.
Many congratulations to our Musicals Group who performed their piece from Les Miserables at The Gracie Fields Theatre last Friday. We were inundated with messages of congratulations from audience members and are so proud of the effort and commitment everyone has shown.
Congratulations also to the PE department for their sterling efforts in raising funds to sponsor the Year 7 boys who are through to the national finals of the English Schools FA Cup. The PE staff organised a Race Night and Auction at Rochdale Cricket Club on Friday and managed to raise over £2,200! Thank you to all the parents, teachers and children who supported the Year 7 boys by attending the event. Good luck for the 17th May, boys!
Year 8 learners have been very enterprising in Geography lessons where they have been looking at viable spots in Manchester for hosting the Olympics – let’s hope the dream becomes a reality!
Our Polish Complementary School will recommence this week – around thirty learners from all year groups meet for two hours after school each week in our Partnership Learning Centre – see Miss Taylor for details.
The facilities in our Partnership Learning Centre are available for parents and for any Parish Groups who wish to produce resources for church or develop their own learning. We now have a group of parents following a computing course in school. If you would like to be a part of this, please speak to Louise Moore for details (01706 647761).
