All the photographs entered for the Springhill Hospice 2011 Rochdale Calendar Photographic Competition went on display on the Gallery Level in the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre on Friday 30 April.

Ian Jenkins, Fundraising Manager for the Hospice, said: “We have had a very good response again to our annual competition, with over 200 pictures being entered this year – well up on last year’s figure. We are also delighted that the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre has once again agreed to be the main sponsor for the 2011 Calendar.

“Whilst the pictures are on display I would urge people to stop and take a look at them. There are some fabulous views from around the Borough and we need people to choose their favourite by using the voting slips at the display to indicate to us which of the pictures they would like to see on the cover of the 2011 calendar.”

The pictures are on display until Friday 21 May after which they will be judged by a panel who will choose which pictures will feature on each month of the calendar.

The Springhill Hospice Rochdale Calendar is the most popular piece of Hospice merchandise, regularly selling thousands of copies each year. Next year’s calendar will be launched in August and be available from Hospice shops, the Hospice Reception and various outlets around the Borough.
