New appointments on NHS board
Date published: 14 May 2009
The provider board for NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale has appointed two new committee members.
Nigel Badley brings experience from the commercial sector having managed his own business. Diane Hardwick also joins the board from a financial background and before retiring worked at director level within the NHS.
Headed by Chairman Bernard Braiden, the provider board leads, controls and directs the activities of local provider services, which includes front line staff providing services to the community such as district nurses or physiotherapists.
Mr Braiden said: “Both Nigel and Diane join the provider board at a time of great change and challenge. We are committed to creating a modern and responsive community service of a consistently high standard and one that is cost effective and competitive for the benefit of patients and our communities.”
The provider board is separate from the NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale trust board and was formed on 1 April following the separation of provider services from the PCT, as part of the Government’s Transforming Community Services directive.
