Four gutsy cyclists completed a 22 mile ride last weekend, kick starting a fundraising campaign Norden Old Library.
Library trustee Kath Wilson, her son Alistair, Norden Councillor Wera Hobhouse and Bamford Councillor William Hobhouse took part in the Over the Edge bike ride on Sunday (9 May).
They completed the 22m round trip from Hollingworth Lake up Blackstone Edge and over the moors via Cragg Vale, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden in two and a half hours.
Councillor Wera Hobhouse said: "The biggest challenge was to get up Blackstone Edge to the White House pub. After that the ride over the moors was absolutely beautiful. The weather was nearly perfect, no wind and only a tiny bit of rain right at the end."
The team raised around £400 pounds for Norden Old Library.
The building stood empty for most of last year and was badly vandalised. The trust is also hoping to raise money to put in disability toilets and disability access.
Next month the trust will host a public meeting where they want to tell residents in Norden more details about the project to renovate the library building.
