Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Fire Appliance
An unpleasant stench covered the Oldham Road area last night (Wednesday 13 May), after arsonists set fire to a pile of manure.
Fire fighters attended Dean Farm, Craiglands, shortly before 8.30am, to remove the smouldering mound, which had been burning for about an hour.
One appliance attended from Rochdale Fire Station.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We cleared the area and made it safe.
“We used one pump, and the fire was completely out within 40 minutes.
“There was certainly a smell lingering for a while.”
