Pyjama party at the library!
Date published: 13 May 2009
Children are invited to don their pyjamas and take their teddy bears along to a special pyjama party at Balderstone Library on Friday 22 May.
Parents and children under five will be able to listen to bedtime stories and rhymes, with every child receiving a free book. There will be information and advice on book choices, bedtime and sleep routines, dental hygiene, as well as craft activities.
Maureen Watson, Library Outreach Worker for Rochdale Borough Council, said:
“The pyjama party is going to be the perfect chance to sing songs and most importantly, discover the fun of cuddling up together with a book.”
Rochdale Borough Council have organised the event to promote Booktrusts Bedtime Reading Week.
The week, which encourages all the family to get involved in the sheer joy and pleasure of reading aloud, runs from 27 May until 2 June.
The pyjama party will run from 10.15 am-11.30 am. For more information please contact Balderstone Library on 01706 640438 or visit www.rochdale.gov.uk/libraries.
