A woman was taken to hospital this morning (Monday 27 April) after a two-car smash in Kingsway.
Traffic was held up between the junction of Moss Bridge Road and Isaac Newton Way, after a Fiat Punto collided with a Ford Mondeo at 8.30am.
A female passenger, believed to be about 50, was cut from the Punto by fire fighters.
She was taken to Rochdale Infirmary with arm and leg injuries.
The driver, a male of roughly the same age, is suffering from shock.
There are no believed injuries from the other car.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We cut the female from the car and she was taken to straight to hospital, luckily the driver was only suffering from shock”.
The roads are now open.
