Meet the diet expert with a difference

Date published: 26 March 2009

Meet Gill Meetoo, a remarkable diet expert who taught herself the mechanics of human metabolism to lose weight.

Gill used to be larger than life but, having been through the mill with large chain weight loss companies, she decided enough is enough, and thought she’d teach herself what makes the body work, and successfully shed four stone.

She went on to become professionally trained so she can help others do the same, and has recently joined Rochdale business Dietcare UK.

Gill spoke to Rochdale Online about her unique journey to fitness, and how her new business venture is different from the rest.

She said: “This is the only clinic in the country which assesses each individual person on their metabolic rate. Everything about weight loss is related to metabolism, and to understand it is to master your weight.

“I don’t like this ‘one diet fits all’ idea, because everyone is different. Stress, grief, bereavement and even the contraceptive pill all slow down our metabolism, and it’s about acknowledging this.

“At Dietcare we follow a client and change their diet as time goes on, all tailor-made to suit them, until eventually they get put on a maintenance diet to help them stay as they want to be”.

Dietcare has had media coverage in a series of national newspapers and magazines, for its unique approach in measuring metabolism.
