Churches battle the recession
Date published: 25 March 2009

Milnrow Parish Church.
Three churches are tightening their belts in the face of the credit crunch.
Milnrow Parish Church, St Thomas' Church in Newhey and and St Ann's in Belfield are considering merging their ministries to maximise their resources against the recession.
Milnrow vicar Rev Robin Usher and St Thomas's Rev Graham Lindley have been approached to take services at St Ann's but there are no plans to close any of the churches.
The Manchester Diocese is hoping that the churches will open up full time to serve youth and community groups but ultimately for one minister to be in charge of all three.
