Greek Feast for children's charity

Date published: 14 March 2009

A night of plate smashing, free ouzo and live Bouzouki music is taking place next month to raise money for children’s charity, MedEquip4Kids.

Demetris Café and Bistro at Littleborough Coach House on Lodge Street is hosting the Greek Night on Saturday 25 April from 7.30pm.

Guests will enjoy a true Greek experience with a 10-course meze buffet followed by a free shot of Ouzo. Live Bouzouki music will play during the night and guests will do the dishes in Greek style – by smashing them! There will also be a Greek-themed quiz along with a raffle and the chance to win prizes.

The money raised from the Greek Night will be put towards the charity’s fundraising projects in Rochdale.

MedEquip4Kids has recently funded more than £23,500 for Rochdale Infirmary’s Children’s Unit providing it with syringe pumps, parents’ beds and oxygen saturation monitors.

MedEquip4Kids is also fundraising to provide three phototherapy units for Royal Oldham Hospital’s Maternity Unit.

MedEquip4Kids’ community fundraiser, Rachel Allen, said: “The night will be a lot of fun and is something a bit different. It gives everyone the chance to enjoy fun evening while raising money for a local charity.”

Tickets cost £25 and are available from MedEquip4Kids by calling 0161 798 1600 or via www.medequip4kids.org.uk/events
