Church holding seminar over roof-theft surge
Date published: 11 March 2009

St. Martin's Church, venue for Rochdale Light Orchestra's first public concert.
St Martins Church, Castleton, is hosting a seminar on ways to deter metal thefts from church roofs.
Thieves have been stealing in the Castleton area, which has sparked concern with church wardens and PCC members, who have been invited to a special seminar, held at the church, next Tuesday.
It has been organised by the historic churches officer at Manchester diocese in response to the growing number if metal thefts.
Insurance companies no longer cover for such a loss.
The sessions will offer advice on ways to deter metal thefts, insurance discounts, community help, details of a new website and what to do if put in such a situation.
For more details call Simon Ambrose at the diocesan office on 0161 828 1410.
