Youngsters from the St Michael’s Scout Group, based in Alkrington, Middleton were given the chance to meet their local police officers to help them complete their Friendship Challenge Award.
The two groups of 16 from the Beavers section of the group visited the station at Oldham Road, Middleton earlier this month and were given a tour of the building, which included the cells.
Other activities throughout the evening included a stranger danger talk and the chance to hop into the driver’s seat of a police car and sound the siren.
PCSO Dominique Grimes from Middleton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is great way for youngsters to get to know their local policing team and an even better way of teaching youngsters simple crime prevention advice and how they can keep safe while out and about.
“The children from this group are only aged six to eight but this is the best time to make them aware of their surroundings and learn about safety.”
