Hidden treasures for Fairtrade fun seekers
Date published: 05 March 2009
Over 30 children embarked on an exciting treasure trail as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.
The youngsters joined with the traders from Rochdale Market’s Fair for All stall to hunt down treasures and take part in a day of fun activities on Saturday.
The stall, which is dedicated to selling Fairtrade-only goods, has received powerful feedback from local shoppers who are keen to promote fairer wages for workers across the world.
Jan Hicks, who helps to run Fair for All along with three other volunteers, said: “It is important for us to promote trade justice, and a fair wage for the many people throughout the world who put the work in.
“It is good to have a strong following in Rochdale and to raise awareness, as well as having fun with the children”.
Fair for All stall trades every Saturday on Rochdale’s outside market.
