Pair hospitalised after three-vehicle smash

A woman was rushed to hospital with “serious facial injuries” after a three-vehicle smash this morning (Thursday 5 March).
Fire crews and police rushed to the junction of Oldham Road and Balderstone Road at 9.30am after two cars and a bus collided.
A man was cut out of his car and rushed to Oldham Royal Hospital, while the woman was taken to Rochdale Infirmary.
Oldham Road was closed both ways between Broad Lane and Melbourne Road while investigation work took place.
Shortly before 2.30pm the road was reopened.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the road policing unit on 0161 856 8473 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
