Sir Steve to launch arena

Middleton Arena
Sporting hero Sir Steve Redgrave will be one of the star guests taking part in a special launch weekend of Middleton Arena in April.
The five times Olympic gold medalist rower will join an all star line up on Saturday 25 April to mark the launch of the £15 million sports and entertainment centre.
Redgrave is the greatest Olympian Britain has ever produced. After striking gold in Sydney 2000 he became the only British athlete ever to have won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games.
Other names on the high profile line-up will include last year’s British Silver Olympic Medalist, Keri-Anne Payne.
The public launch will kick off a week of special events at the arena, culminating with a live performance by double British comedy award winner Dave Spikey on Sunday 3 May. The star of the smash hit ‘Phoenix Nights’ and team captain from ‘8 Out of 10 Cats’ will be bringing his latest show to the new auditorium for the Bank Holiday weekend, mid way through his sell out UK tour.
The launch event on 25 April is free to attend, and everyone is invited.
Tickets to see Dave Spikey go on sale at 10am on Thursday 12 March.
