Don’t put your scarf and gloves away just yet, as Rochdale is expecting yet more extreme weather over the next few days.
After a fortnight of mild temperatures, a band of heavy rain and snow is forecast to sweep across the country, including a sleet and snow fall over the Pennines, as temperatures are expected to hit freezing once again.
Overnight temperatures will plummet to minus 2C (26F).
The Met Office has said this winter is on course to be the coldest in Britain since 1995-96, with an average temperature of only 2.9C (37F).
