Was Rochdale terrorist tortured during interrogation?
Date published: 01 March 2009

Convicted terrorist Rangzieb Ahmed.
The lawyers of convicted Rochdale terrorist Rangzieb Ahmed are appealing against a judge's ruling that three of his fingernails were not ripped out during an interrogation by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate.
Ahmed was detained in Pakistan in August 2006 and MI5 and Greater Manchester Police provided questions to ISI officers to ask him.
A judge later ruled that Ahmed was being illegally detained in inhumane conditions and was possibly being subjected to sleep deprivation.
He was deported back to the UK and successfully prosecuted for terrorism offences in December last year. He was jailed for life.
