Local police services have stayed strong despite national cutback in staff.
It was reported last week how some police officers could face redundancy as the force copes with the pressures of the economic downturn.
But Greater Manchester Police has confirmed that, at the moment, there is no risk for Rochdale losing any of its valued bobbies.
Superintendent Martin Greenhalgh of GMP’s Rochdale Division, said: “Divisionally here in Rochdale there are no planned cuts in our resources.
“There have been opportunities both last year and next year for increased resources following work with our partners such as the council, youth services, housing associations and health service.
“There are now additional officers based within the schools dedicated to policing our priority neighbourhoods.”
