Man charged over teacher assault

A man from Freehold has been charged after a headteacher was glassed in a restaurant on Milkstone Road on Tuesday night (17 February), as reported on Rochdale Online yesterday.
The teacher needs reconstructive surgery following the assault at the Kapana Indian Restaurant.
Jermaine Carl Bullen, age 25, of Albion Road, has been charged with assault and criminal damage and is due to appear at Rochdale Magistrates' Court later today.
Four other men arrested on suspicion of assault have been bailed pending further enquiries.
Kieran Heakin, who is a primary school headteacher in Burnley but lives in Shawclough, is in a stable condition in hospital following the attack. He was previously head at St John's Catholic Primary in Rochdale.
Mr Heakin, who is in his late 50s, suffered serious facial injuries in the unprovoked assault.
