Car blaze on busy carriageway

Fire fighters rushed to a busy dual carriageway after an electrical fault caused a car to set ablaze.
Crews attended the A627(M) at midday today (Tuesday 17 February) after motorists reported a Fiat Stilo was on fire.
Two appliances from Rochdale Fire Station attended the scene.
A spokesman from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “No-one was hurt in the incidents and the cause of the fire was recorded as accidental, caused by an electrical fault on the car itself.
“Both appliances visited the scene and it took about 20 minutes to fully put the fire out”.
