Truck set alight in arson attack
Date published: 17 February 2009
A large blaze raged on the Kingsway Business Park last night after an HGV containing tonnes of toilet paper was deliberately set alight.
Rochdale firefighters were mobilised to the arson attack on Sir Isaac Newton Way at around 9.45pm last night and found a well established fire at the scene.
The fire had started in the truck and spread to the trailer, which contained three tonnes of toilet paper, causing severe damage.
The fire crew had to wear breathing apparatus while using a jet to tackle the blaze.
Police inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
