Winners pick up prizes after Speaking Up

Date published: 16 February 2009

Three lucky winners have picked up their prizes after taking part in NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale’s largest health consultation.

Rochdale residents Brian Bunnell, 71, and John Turner, 70, and Julia Crathern, 55, from Heywood were among 5000 residents from across the borough who took part in the Speak Up! It’s your Health consultation last year.

Every resident who took part was given the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win a Nintendo Wii and Wii Fit, a weekend break for two or Link4Life leisure passes.

The three winners, selected at random, were awarded their prizes today by John Pierce, Chairman of NHS HMR. “It’s great to meet the winners who gave up their time to get involved in this vitally important consultation and contribute to local NHS services,” he said.

Speak Up! gave local people the chance to have their say on health plans for the borough over the next five years, on various areas including lifestyle, mental health, GP services, hospital care and dental care.

All the feedback is now being analysed and NHS HMR be reporting their future plans next month.
