Brewing up funds for children's hospital

Sure Start Staff at Crossfield Mill will be enjoying a cuppa and cake break on Friday 6 March as part of The Big T Break.

Organised by the Family Information Service, Sure Start staff will take a short tea break in their Friday morning schedule to raise money for Manchester’s new Children’s Hospital.

Home made and shop bought cakes and biscuits will be on offer as a tempting cuppa accompaniment.

The fundraiser comes at a time when a national report states the UK are brewing up now more than ever before and the Family Information Service staff are expecting a busy morning by the kettle.

Shirley Harrison, Manager of the Family Information Service said: “We have regular fundraising activities for a variety of local good causes which help local families. We expect the Big T break will be very popular with all the staff at Crossfield Mill. We are delighted to be able to contribute to Manchester’s new Children’s Hospital.”

The Family Information Service have also recently raised a total of £175.20 for PHAB, (Physically Handicapped and Able Bodied), a charity dedicated to the integration of people with physical disabilities in the community. PHAB organises events and holidays as well as campaigning for equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
